Rent a Motor Home
Many families experience RV travel for the first time by renting a recreation vehicle. Families enjoy the RV lifestyle
because it gives them freedom of movement, travel at a relaxed pace, togetherness, comfort and economy. They roam where
they please, not tied to rigid schedules, and sleep each night in their own bed. Vacation cost comparison studies show
that a family of four, on the road for 21 nights, will incur less than half the costs in renting RVs in motorhome
rentals, compared to traveling by airline and staying in motels or hotels and eating most meals in restaurants.
Basic Types of Units Offered by Rent a Motor Home
Motorhome Class A: A camping and travel vehicle, from 24 to 40 feet in length, built on a self-propelled vehicle chassis.
Contains kitchen, sleeping, bathroom and dining facilities, accessible to driver's area. Living systems include electricity, heating,
air conditioning, water and propane gas. Sleeps 2 to 7 people. Price Range: US$219.00 - US$389 per day.
Motorhome Class B or C: Mini Motorhome. Scaled down version of the class A, from 20 to 28 feet in length, built on
truck chassis, usually with sleeping bunks atop cab. Living area accessible to driver's area. Sleeps 2 to 6, if you
include children. Has fewer features, less space and privacy than larger units, but is more economical to operate and is
easier to drive and park. Price Range: US$136.00 - US$191 per day.
Travel Trailers: Not practical for overseas guests, since they require a heavy-duty vehicle to pull them. Towable units,
13 to 33 feet in length, have full living facilities, but it's illegal to use them while underway. Best when parked at a
campground for extended periods, while you use the towing vehicle for local transportation and sightseeing. Check with hotorhome rentals
to make sure your tow vehicle, hitch and wiring are adequate. Price Range: US$85 - US$135 per day.
Truck Campers: Camping unit mounted on bed of a pickup truck, 18 to 21 feet in length, including the truck. May
have kitchen and toilet facilities, plus bunks to sleep 2 to 6 people. Specially popular in Rent a Motor Home in Canada,
for wilderness use. Average Price: US$80 - US$200 per day.
